Hi, I'm Cindy Tauer-Eckart, aka Austin Artist 007.

As far back as I can remember I’ve always been inspired and fascinated by primitive cave paintings.  When I was a little girl I spent much of my time gathering rocks from the gravel road in front of our house.  I would bring them inside and paint them with primitive designs, then I would take them back out and throw them in the road where I found them. It was my hope and belief that people would find them and think they had stumbled upon an ancient treasure painted by earliest of humans.

I’ve studied art all my life and find that even after taking classes at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, taken various classes through the Art League of Houston, and private lessons from various artists, I always find myself reverting back to the type of art that inspired me from the beginning. Humans have been expressing themselves through art for more than 40,000 years, and I classify my art as modern art inspired by ancient art.

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Houston when I was 9 years old.  My husband and I moved to Austin in 2008 after Hurricane Ike. A few of my favorite artist are Edmund Leighton, Norman Rockwell, Claude Monet, ancient cave artists, and myself!  Thanks for visiting my page, live long and prosper and always be kind to all creatures great and small!
